Transcendence

This inquiry concerns how I might capture imagery to portray transcendence. For now I am imagining sheer, veiled, unexpected, reflected, mysterious moments. The extraordinary is ever-present and awaiting discovery...

At Amy Stacey Curtis' exhibit titled MATTER at the woolen mill in Parsonsfield this week I experienced the emotional conterpart to my intellectual thoughts on how to define transcendence. One of her 9 interactive works invites participants to drop black ink into water. Ironically, one of our artists for the upcoming Transcendence exhibit had shared her video of ink dropped into water just the day prior and my emotional response was identical!

The coyotes could not have been louder or closer last night...I closed the doors so they would not be streaming through the house.

The dots are from an object photographed in the lab at the tech school where I am taking a class. I have been thinking of the circle as a transcendent shape...the grid of dots even better.
